What is an early ballot?
A ballot that is received before election day. The early voting period starts 27 days prior to election day and voters can receive an early ballot through the mail or visit an onsite early voting location.
How can I get one?
When registering to vote you can request to be added to the Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL) or make a one time request by contacting your county recorder.
What is a provisional ballot?
A provisional ballot is issued at the polling place to anyone who is not on the polling location’s roster or if the voter was unable to provide a valid form of identification.
Provisional ballots require additional verification before they can be counted. They help ensure every eligible voter only votes once.
