May 16, 2017 Election
Who is participating:

Certain jurisdictions and municipalities will be conducting an election on May 16, 2017 (noted above). The topics on the ballot can range from selecting office-holders in local government to issues regarding finance, transportation, public safety, city charter amendments etc. Below you will find more information, as well as a link to the specific municipality's website. Remember that April 17, 2017 is the last day to register to vote for this election. Ballots must be RECEIVED no later than 7 PM on May 16, 2017 (Election Day). Make sure your voice is heard and participate in your local election!
City of Holbrook (Property Tax)
A resolution of the mayor and council of the City of Holbrook has ordered a General Election to be held on May 16, 2017. A public notice has been published and can be viewed here. The election will submit a question to the qualified electors of the town regarding the collection of the Primary Property Taxes. Town of Wellton (Real Property Tax)
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Wellton, Arizona, may impose a new real property (ad valorem) tax to generate $400,000 in revenue to finance public safety sevices, including police and fire, in the Town of Wellton. Cochise County (Whetstone Water District Residents) - ALL MAIL ELECTION
The Cochise County Board of Supervisors has approved the Order to call a Special Recall Election for the Whetstone Water District to be held May 16, 2017 for the purpose of the recall of the three Governing Board Members. To view more information, or to contact Cochise County, please click here.
City of Douglas (Special Election) - ALL MAIL ELECTION
The City of Douglas has called a Special Election to take place on May 16, 2017. There will be a total of 12 ballot measures and they will all propose amendments to the city charter. City of Goodyear (Runoff Election) - ALL MAIL ELECTION
Mayor Lord and City Council incumbents Joe Pizzillo and Wally Campbell received 50% plus one of the votes needed and were considered elected at the March 14, 2017 Primary. Brannon Hampton and Sara Gilligan received the next highest amount of votes, but did not receive 50% of the votes cast. Click here to view their candidate profiles. City of Tucson (Special Election) - ALL MAIL ELECTION

After arriving at your polling location on Election day you will present one form of identification from List #1 or two different forms of identification from List #2 or #3.
|LIST #1 - SUFFICIENT PHOTO ID INCLUDING NAME AND ADDRESS (ONE REQUIRED)
|Valid Arizona driver license
|Valid Arizona non-operating identification card
|Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
|Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification
|LIST #2 - SUFFICIENT ID WITHOUT A PHOTOGRAPH THAT BEAR THE NAME AND ADDRESS (TWO REQUIRED)
|Utility bill of the elector that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election. A utility bill may be for electric, gas, water, solid waste, sewer, telephone, cellular phone, or cable television
|Bank or credit union statement that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election
|Valid Arizona Vehicle Registration
|Indian census card
|Property tax statement of the elector's residence
|Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
|Arizona vehicle insurance card
|Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification, including a voter registration card issued by the County Recorder
|Any mailing to the elector marked “Official Election Material”
|LIST #3 - MIX AND MATCH FROM LISTS #1 AND #2 (TWO REQUIRED)
|U.S. Passport without address and one valid item from List 2

|Any valid photo identification from List 1 in which the address does not reasonably match the precinct register accompanied by a non-photo identification from List 2 in which the address does reasonably match the precinct register
CAN I VOTE EARLY?
Absolutely. If you are on the Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL), you will automatically receive a ballot in your mailbox beginning April 19, 2017. Voters not on PEVL may make a one-time early ballot request or sign up for the Permanent Early Voting List. The deadline to request an early ballot by mail is Friday, May 5th at 5:00 p.m. Contact your County Recorder's Office to request an early ballot or find early voting locations.
DO I NEED ID TO VOTE EARLY?
If you vote early, either by mail or in person, ID is not required. Your signature on the early ballot affidavit is compared to your voter registration record by the County Recorder to determine if the signature is valid. ID is required if you vote at the polls on Election Day.
HOW CAN MILITARY & OVERSEAS VOTERS GET A BALLOT?
Military and Overseas voters have special voting rights under federal and state law (Uniformed & Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA)). These rights include the use of a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to register to vote and request an early ballot as well as the use of a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB), which serves as an emergency back-up ballot. DO I HAVE TO VOTE EVERYTHING ON MY BALLOT?
No, voters do not have to vote everything on their ballot. The votes they do cast will still be counted. However, we encourage voters to vote down the ballot as local races, propositions, judges, etc. can impact voters' daily lives.
