Requirements when registering to vote in Arizona

  • A citizen of the United States
  • A resident of Arizona and the county listed on your registration 29 days prior to the election
  • 18 years of age or older on or before November 6, 2018
  • You are able to write your name or make your mark (unless prevented by disability)

You are unable to register if:

  • You have been adjudicated an incapacitated person.
  • You have been convicted of a treason or a felony, unless you have had your civil rights restored.
    *Note: For a first-time felony conviction, civil rights are automatically restored upon completion of a person's sentence and payment of any fines and restitution.

Register Online

    Note: Registering on Service Arizona utilizes the state form and citizenship is verified through your MVD record. An Arizona driver license or non-operating ID is required to use the Servicearizona application.
  • Download the State Registration form and mail to your county recorder’s office
  • Download the Federal Registration form and mail to your county recorder’s office

Voter registration forms are also available at most libraries, motor vehicle division (MVD) offices, city clerk offices and public assistance agencies.

What is the difference between a State Registration Form and a Federal Registration Form?
The state voter registration form requires proof of citizenship so you may vote in federal, state and local elections. The federal voter registration form does not require proof of citizenship; however, you are only eligible to vote in federal elections, such as President, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives.


Permanent Early Voting List

Arizona also has a Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL), which allows a voter to automatically receive a ballot by mail for every election they are eligible to vote in. To sign up for PEVL online, you can either update your registration online through Servicearizona.com or submit a written request with your signature to your County Recorder. Once Registered

Voters will receive a registration card in the mail from their County Recorder. Voters are encouraged to review the registration card to ensure the information is correct and as they intended. If you have questions or need a replacement voter registration card, please contact your County Recorder directly.
