NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND POSSIBLE

EXECUTIVE SESSION OF

THE

STATE OF ARIZONA

CITIZENS CLEAN ELECTIONS COMMISSION

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the Commissioners of the Citizens Clean Elections Commission and the general public that the Citizens Clean Elections Commission will hold a regular meeting, open to the public on Tuesday, September 16, 2003. This meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m., at Citizens Clean Elections Commission, 1616 West Adams, Suite 110, Phoenix, Arizona 85007.

The Commission may vote to go into executive session, which will not be open to the public, for the purpose of discussing personnel matters (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(2)), and consultation with Commission attorneys, regarding pending litigation (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(4)), and/or obtaining legal advice for any item on the agenda (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(3)).

All matters on the agenda may be discussed, considered and are subject to action by the Commission.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

  1. Call to Order
     
  2. Approval of Minutes of August 19, 2003 Meeting.
     
  3. Executive Director's Report.
     
  4. Discussion of Proposed Constitutional Amendment Initiated by the Organization, “No Taxpayer Money for Politicians.”
     
  5. Discussion of Voter Education and Public Relations Campaign Activities.
     
  6. Consideration of Contents of Candidate Statement Pamphlets for 2004 Primary and General Elections.
     
  7. Consideration and Approval of 2003-2004 Candidate Training Materials.
     
  8. Legal Report from Assistant Attorney General Diana Varela
     
  9. Call for Public Comment.

    This is the time for consideration and discussion of comments and complaints from the public. Those wishing to address the Commission shall request permission in advance by filling out a speaker slip. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date.

  10. Consideration of Settlement Discussions in MUR No.: 02-0060, Paul DeDonati, and MUR No.: 02-0058, Trevor Clevenger.

    The Commission may vote to go into executive session, which will not be open to the public, for the purpose of consulting with Commission attorneys, regarding pending or contemplated litigation or in settlement discussions conducted in order to avoid or resolve litigation (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(4)), or obtaining legal advice (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(3))

  11. Discussion of Litigation Regarding Matt Shaffer.

    The Commission may vote to go into executive session, which will not be open to the public, for the purpose of consulting with Commission attorneys, regarding pending or contemplated litigation (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(4)), or obtaining legal advice (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(3)).
