NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND POSSIBLE
EXECUTIVE SESSION OF

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the Commissioners of the Citizens Clean Elections Commission and the general public that the Citizens Clean Elections Commission will hold a regular meeting, open to the public on Tuesday,
June 25, 2002. This meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m., at Citizens Clean Elections Commission, 4001 N. 3rd St., Suite 200, Phoenix, Arizona 85012.

The Commission may vote to go into executive session, which will not be open to the public, for the purpose of discussing personnel matters (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(2)), and consultation with Commission attorneys, regarding pending litigation (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(4)), and/or obtaining legal advice for any item on the agenda (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(3)).
All matters on the agenda may be discussed, considered and are subject to action by the Commission.
The agenda for the meeting is as follows:
- Call to Order.
- Approval of Minutes of June 4, 2002.
- Executive Director's Report.
- Candidate Debates:
- Presentation by Bernie Ronan, Director, Center for Civic Participation Regarding Community Colleges Sponsoring Debates.
- Consideration and Approval of Debate Contract with Center for Civic Participation.
- Update on Debate Format and Schedules.
- Discussion of Candidate Statements Pamphlet: Number of Statements Received, Modifications Made in Accordance with SB1051, Bid Awarded to Printer, and Scheduled Mailings.
- Legal Report from Assistant Attorney General Todd Lang: Authorizing the Filing of Amicus Brief in Court of Appeals in Horne v. Molera and Filing Petition for Review in Supreme Court in May v. Bayless.
The Commission may vote to go into executive session, which will not be open to the public, for the purpose of consulting with Commission attorneys, regarding pending or contemplated litigation (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(4)), or obtaining legal advice (A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(3)).
- Preliminary Discussions for Strategic Planning for 2003 - 2004 Election Cycle.
- Call for Public Comment.
This is the time for consideration and discussion of comments and complaints from the public. Those wishing to address the Commission shall request permission in advance by filling out a speaker slip. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling the matter for further consideration and decision at a later date.
- Discussion and Consideration of Personnel Matter:
Performance assessment and salary review of the Executive Director and staff. The Commission may vote to discuss this matter in executive session pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(1).
