2009 Officeholder Expenses
CANDIDATES > For Candidates > 2009 Officeholder Expenses
The Officeholder Expense Account provision is no longer in effect as of April 30, 2010. Please see A.R.S. § 41-133 or contact the office of the Secretary of State for more information.
The “Officeholder Expense Account” permits current statewide and legislative officeholders to raise and spend money to pay for officeholder related expenses. Officeholder Account funds may not be used for campaign purposes.
All funds must be raised from individuals and may not exceed $70 per individual contribution. In addition, the following chart lists the limits that may be raised for each office:
| 2009-10 OFFICEHOLDER EXPENSE ACCOUNT LIMITS |
| Governor | $102,500 |
| Secretary of State | $91,656 |
| Attorney General | $91,656 |
| Treasurer | $45,822 |
| Superintendent of Public Instruction | $45,822 |
| Corporation Commission | $45,822 |
| Mine Inspector | $22,920 |
| Legislature | $7,160 |
Failure to register an Officeholder Expense Account with the Secretary of State may cause participating candidates to inadvertently exceed their early contribution limits for the next election cycle and may cause traditional candidates to trigger matching funds for future opponents.
